Non-profit organisation

Bink is a non-profit organisation. That means that we are a socially committed childcare organisation that reinvests our income in our organisation. This is how we differ from commercial childcare organisations. What does social commitment actually entail?

The same starting point for all children

We believe that the best childcare should be accessible to everyone, no matter who you are or where you come from. That is why Bink is in as many neighbourhoods as possible in the region of Hilversum and Soest. Even where it might not be the most logical choice for us financially, but where children badly need childcare. This way, every child has the same starting point.

‘In everything we do, we look at how we can promote the development and equal opportunities for every child, regardless of their background and opportunities. That is our guiding principle,’ says Monique Wittebol, chairman of the board of Bink.

Every child matters

If a child needs some extra support, we are happy to invest our time and expertise. Within our regular childcare, and where necessary within our additional offer, early childhood education (VE) or out-of-school-intensive for children from special primary education.

We are one of the few childcare organisations in Hilversum and Soest that can accommodate toddlers with a VE-indication. These are children who need extra support.

With the programme ‘Opstapje’, we improve education opportunities for children between the ages of 1 and 2. Our family counsellor regularly visits families to play and talk with the child with their parent(s) present, using tools such as games, picture books and musical instruments.

Playing and moving together

From baby to teenager, we pay a great deal of attention to movement within our childcare; but also, outside of it! Our neighborhood sports coaches organize sports activities throughout Hilversum for all the young people. In other words, also for children who do not practice a sport due to circumstances at home. In Hilversum, we offer a Dynamic School Day at various schools. This involves regularly alternating learning while sitting and moving.

Investing knowledge

We reinvest our income in our organisation; and in the knowledge and expertise of our staff. Thanks to our training programme, the Bink Academy, our staff continues to develop their skills and the quality we provide remains high.

Together with ROC Midden-Nederland, we offer our own BBL-training to people who want to train to become a pedagogical assistant. It is a great opportunity for people who would like to work in childcare, but do not (yet) have the necessary qualifications.

High pedagogical quality

We invest a great deal of time and money in our pedagogical approach, even more than is stipulated by law. Our pedagogical staff spend a lot of time – outside of time spent with the group – on child reviews, observations, preparation of activities and other pedagogical matters. We also have pedagogical coaches who mentor our pedagogical staff.

In collaboration with the University of Utrecht we have devised a pedagogical method called Playfully Developing, which allows us to offer targeted activities that contribute to children’s development.

Financial policy

Our aim is not to make a profit, but to achieve quality. What we earn we spend on the quality of our childcare, the development of our staff and the continuity of our organisation, such as the buildings. Diapers, healthy food and formula are included in the price. As are extra’s, such as our developmentally geared activities, transportation to sports clubs and excursions.
