Am I eligible for compensation if a group is closed due to staff shortages?

Yes, you are entitled to a refund of unused care. But, since it will remain an exception per group that we have to close one, we have appealed to parents not to ask for their money back. We are a non-profit social organisation, which means that we invest everything we earn back into the organisation, into the children. Most parents have complied with this request and therefore we have allowed the existing invoicing and collection to continue. Parents who want their money back will of course get this. If you have already had to deal with such an afternoon/day or will have to deal with it in the future and would like to receive a refund for these hours, please send an e-mail to debiteuren@binkkinderopvang.nl. Please indicate which afternoon/day and which group it concerned, and we will contact you. It may be good to know that, if you are reimbursed, you must also notify the tax authorities in connection with your childcare benefit, because you will then no longer be entitled to a benefit for these hours. Please note that the reimbursement option does not apply to afternoons that are directly related to coronal infections, such as when the GGD has determined that your child has to go into quarantine or when we do not have enough ‘familiar faces’ to offer responsible childcare because of employees in quarantine who tested positive. It only applies to a situation in which we inform you that we cannot offer childcare due to staff shortages.
